The NSW government announced a $20 million package at the weekend to alleviate significant delays in criminal trials reaching the District Court. The funding will provide for extra sitting weeks in a number of regional courts and the appointment of a number of temporary judges. We await the full detail of the arrangements and the impact this may have within the Macarthur region.
